5 Ways To Know If You Are An ‘Entre-Ployee’!

May 20, 2016

I can just see your face now… ‘an Entre what?’

So firstly, let me explain what an ‘entre-ployee’ is. It is someone who left the corporate jungle, to follow their dream and open their own business to become an entrepreneur, however, somewhere along the way, something got messed up.

As a Business Mentor now for 5 years, I have held many discussions with entrepreneurs at networking events and held many private conversations on social media and one common theme has emerged.

Many business owners are working way to hard for their money!

They are still stuck in this employee mindset of trading time for money and now they have their own business, this has proven to be a very bad recipe. When we are in our own business, we feel the need to do everything ourselves, as we can’t just push the work off to another department to do, as it’s just us.

Or is it?

So how do you know if you are truly and Entrepreneur, or an ‘Entre-ployee’?

Here are 5 ways to check immediately:

  1. Do you work more than 7 hours every work day?
  2. Do you find you are working early mornings and late into the evening?
  3. Do you find yourself ‘working’ on social media sites on the weekend and at family picnics?
  4. If you stopped working, would the income still come into your business?
  5. Do you charge by the hour for every one of your products or services?

Now don’t get me wrong. If you are in start up phase (ie first 12 months), you will answer yes to each of these questions. I’m talking to those who have been in business more than 12 months.

If you answered yes to more than 3 of these questions, then you are officially an ‘Entre-ployee’. Is that a bad thing you ask?

Well let’s put it this way. Ask yourself this question.

  • If you have been in business for 2 years, it maybe still considered ok.
  • If you have been in business for more than 3 years, I would suggest it’s time to find a better way

The idea of going into our own businesses, is for most business owners to have more choices and freedom isn’t it? So if we are working the same or harder, still trading time for money and have all the risk on our shoulders, are we actually better off going back to work?

I know this may confront some of you, as if you are one of these people, we don’t always like to hear the truth. BUT (yes here comes the but), of course once we are consciously aware of our surroundings, we can now do something about our reality can’t we?

So now that you are aware that you are an ‘Entre-ployee’, you have 3 choices:

  1. Continue on the same path and re-read this post next year and kick yourself for not changing something in your business
  2. Consider re-entering the workforce and becoming a true employee
  3. Find someone who can help you create a different reality and create a business that gives you exactly what you want as an entrepreneur

So how do I fit into all of this?

Well that’s up to you.

Winning the International Gold Stevie Award in New York last year, was a huge accomplishment for me, as I realised that I wasn’t just winning that for me. I was winning that for all the women I have helped, inspired and guided along the way and as importantly, all the ones I haven’t met yet.

We are fast approaching the end of the financial year here in Australia. If you really want to change the result of the next financial year, maybe we need to have a 10 minute discovery call, to see if you are ready to do what it takes, invest the time and money into setting up your business in such a way, that some elements of it, will make money while you sleep.

Imagine truly understanding how to leverage your time and share your product or service to many, using the same 1 hour that you used to trade for money!

Imagine truly being able to choose what you do everyday and have the freedom to live your life the way you want to.

Imagine how great it will feel, when you can decide who to work with and who to say no to, as you have created boundaries in your life that honour you and your work.

Well, imagine no more. This is exactly what I help my clients achieve and the ones who believe and apply what’s taught, experience this as a reality.

The only choice you have to make right now, is if you want to invest 5 minutes of your time, filling out a brief form to tell me more about you and then 10 minutes on the phone with me to discuss your biggest frustration.

That’s it.

It is that simple. If you are ready to stop being an ‘Entre-ployee’, then CLICK HERE NOW and let’s chat.

I can only take 10 of these calls due to my schedule, so it will be for the 1st 10 people to fill the form out. Please don’t fill this out if you are not truly fed up and sick of working way to hard, for less than what you were taking home in the corporate space. You have to be at that point of ‘enough is enough’ for things to change and for you to do what’s required to truly be an entrepreneur.

If you are ready, I’m ready to help you. I look forward to hearing from those who are ready for change and choices in their life.
